Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This policy explains what information BidBid Online Auctions ("BidBid", "we") collects on bidbid.ca, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA. Our marketplace rules are in the Terms & Conditions.
What we collect
Account information: name, email address, phone number, company (optional), and your addresses for delivery and billing.
Transaction information: your bids, purchases, invoices, pickup and delivery selections, and messages exchanged with sellers or our support team.
Usage information: device and browser data, pages visited, and interactions with the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and is never seen or stored by BidBid. Stripe processes your payment data under its own privacy policy. We receive only what we need to run your order: payment status, the payment method's last digits, and billing details you provide.
Third-party services we use
Google reCAPTCHA protects our registration and contact forms from abuse; its use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Email delivery for order confirmations and notifications is handled by our email service provider. Analytics tools, including Microsoft Clarity, help us understand how the site is used — page interactions may be captured in anonymized session analytics so we can fix problems and improve the experience. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
How we use your information
To run your account and transactions; to arrange pickup, transfers and delivery (sellers receive the delivery details needed to fulfill your order — nothing more); to calculate taxes correctly by destination; to prevent fraud and enforce our Terms; to send transactional messages about your bids, invoices and orders; and, only if you opted in, to send our newsletter — you can unsubscribe at any time from any newsletter email or from your account settings.
Retention and security
We keep transaction records as long as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes, and account information for as long as your account is active. Access to personal information is restricted to staff who need it, and our systems use encrypted connections (HTTPS) throughout.
Your choices and rights
You may access and correct your information in your account settings at any time. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to close your account and delete information we are not legally required to keep, by reaching us through the Contact Us page. We respond to privacy requests promptly.
Changes
If we change this policy, the new version will be posted on this page with its effective date. Material changes will be announced on the site.
